1. WARRANTY All
220 Volt GE appliances sold in the United States for use overseas come
with a two-year parts and one year labor warranty. While we suggest
utilizing a General Electric Authorized service center, any competent
mechanic can make the repair. See warranty for details. This is the
strongest, most comprehensive baggage trade warranty available in North
America.
2. BAKED ENAMEL on STEEL REFRIGERATOR LINERS GE
Side by Side Refrigerators now offer Baked Enamel on Steel Cabinet liners.
This liner is the toughest, most long lasting available. It does not
absorb odors, and is impervious to stains. It costs more money to
manufacture a steel liner. That's why our competitor use HIPS polystyrene.
Polystyrene plastic is much less expensive but it is brittle and is
subject to cracking.
3. ABS PLASTIC DOOR AND REFRIGERATOR
LINERS All GE Top Mount Refrigerators utilize ABS Plastic in their
cabinet liners. ABS Plastic is the same material NFL Football helmets are
made with. It doesn't get brittle and crack when exposed to
cold.
4. GE's EXCLUSIVE ELECTRONIC MONITORING SYSTEM The
General Electric Electronic Monitoring System is available on selected
side by side models. It indicates when power has been interrupted, if the
defrost system has failed, if the freezer or refrigerator temperature is
higher than normal and if the door is ajar. The Electronic Monitoring
System operates on low voltage. This means it is isolated from power line
fluctuations. Voltage spikes or dips have no effect on the operation or
reliability of the computer. CONSUMERS WHO LIVE IN AREAS WHERE THE
ELECTRICITY ISN'T RELAIBLE WOULD BE SERVED VERY WELL BY BUYING A GENERAL
ELECTRIC REFRIGERATOR WITH THE ELECTRONIC MONITORING SYSTEM. Because the
system is not a control panel, refrigerator functions cannot be
accidentally altered.
5. GE's EXCLUSIVE REFRESHMENT
DOOR General Electric is the only appliance manufacturer that
offers a refreshment door on selected side by side models. The 3rd door
offers instant access to favorite foods and snacks. It reduces needless
door openings. By just opening the refreshment door, most of the cold air
remains in the refrigerator, which conserves energy. The open door
converts to a convenient work counter which is lit for better
visibility.
6. LIGHT TOUCH WATER AND ICE DISPENSER The GE
"Light-Touch" dispenser features a single pad that, when touched,
dispenses ice, crushed ice or chilled water. A light touch is all that is
required, so paper cups won't crumple and glasses won't break. The
dispenser is cradle-free; taller glasses and bowls for accessing bulk ice
fit easily in the large open dispenser area. You won't find this feature
on any Whirlpool refrigerator.
7. CROSS BRACING AND DOOR WITHIN
A DOOR SUPPORT Cross bracing or door within a door offers added
support and strength. It keeps the doors from sagging. It is more
important today as more food and beverages are stored on the door bins.
All GE small, top- mount refrigerator doors utilize cross bracing. All GE
large top mount refrigerator doors as well as all GE Side by Side
refrigerators utilize Door within a Door Support.
8. GE's
PATENTED TEXTURED STEEL CABINET GE's Textured Steel offers a longer
lasting appearance and hides fingerprints and smudges. What separates GE
from the rest? The Super Seville Textured Steel, manufactured by U.S.
Steel, is easier to clean than other brands because the distances between
the high and low points in the texture are very slight. Ruts or valleys
don't form. This results in a smooth and even paint application and
ensures a long term, high-sheen exterior appearance.
9.
SPILL-PROOF SHELVES, MODULAR DOOR BINS AND QUICK SERVE STORAGE
SYSTEM General Electric offers Spill-Proof shelves on many of their
refrigerators. What separates GE's shelves from the rest? Each spill-proof
shelf can hold up to 12 oz. of spilled liquid. Our Modular Door Bins have
a spill proof, four-sided design. Each bin is designed to hold up to 18
lb. of foods or beverages. This could be two, one-gallon jugs of milk. Our
competitors cannot make these claims.
10. COIL FREE
BACKS Coil free backs eliminate messy coils to clean, gives a more
integrated appearance and allows the refrigerator to fit closer to the
wall. Believe it or not, some of our competitors still use coils on the
backs of most of their refrigerators. Coil free backs allow up front
cleaning. There is no need to move the refrigerator to reach the
evaporator coils.
